ISLAMABAD/PESHAWAR: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain reacted strongly to the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Swat public meeting, dubbing it a picnic of retired opposition leaders.
In his reaction, the minister said that PDM meeting was actually a picnic of retired opposition politicians and he claimed the opposition meeting failed miserably. “They have nothing but words for the nation. Shehbaz Sahib! Nawaz Sharif has looted the people and fled to London, he made less electricity and more expensive electricity,” he alleged.
The minister pointed out that he was surprised that Shehbaz Sharif, who complained of back pain in jail, was perfectly healthy to hold a rally in Swat and continued that the whole nation was made to reap the poisonous crop sown by the opposition today. “After the completion of five years of Imran Khan, the people will get a better and brighter Pakistan, whereas the opposition continues to taunt but defeat in 2023 will be their destiny,” Chaudhry Fawad went on to claim.
The people would continue their journey to take Pakistan on the path of development under the leadership of Imran Khan, he said and added JUI-Fazl chief Maulana Sahib's health was not good, so he was saying such things, his health was constantly bad since the 2018 elections, may Allah Almighty grant him perfect health.
“Maulana Sahib! If Shehbaz Sharif had been asked, he would have explained why he had objected to the arrival of the Prime Minister (at the security briefing),” he contended. PDM meeting, he emphasised, has lost both its destination and founder without Bilawal Bhutto and ANP, who created this alliance.
Meanwhile, Special Assistant to Chief Minister for Information, Kamran Bangash on Sunday said that a failed public gathering of the opposition parties in the Grassy Ground Swat had once again shown that people had full confidence on the policies of the government for their welfare and development.
In a statement, he said that due to lack of public interest in the opposition rally, they brought students of various madaris to the gathering. Bangash said that people know about the personal motives of the opposition leaders and that is why they stayed away from the gathering. He said that it was shameful to bring children from madaris to fill the avenue of public gathering, adding using innocent students for political goals was great injustice with them.
He said that PTI government had restored peace and law and order situation across the province due to which leaders of the opposition parties could now hold public gatherings in their hometowns without any fear.
He said that parents should not neglect their responsibilities to monitor activities of their children. He said that using madaris children for other purposes expect studies would expose these students for exploitations.
Bangash said that government respect religious scholars, Ulema and madaris role in the society, adding Wifaq Ul Madaris should take notice of exploitation of students and initiate action against madaris involved in such practices.
